How can i connect a home theatre to a tv through HDMI?

so both support HD and i have a HDMI cable and please explain good because im only 13
 
Yes. Plug the HDMI output of you home theater into the HDMI input of your TV. If you have a cable box with an HDMI output plug that into the HDMI input of your home theater.

You should read the Home Theater manual - has pictures too.
Connect HDMI out from HT to HDMI input in TV.
On the TV, select the input the HDMI port is connected
