how connect home theater system sub woofers into speakers for computers?

i have an old sony home theatre system which doesnt work. the speakers work. i want to use thm as speakers which can be connected to my computer. i took the subwoofers connected it to a 3.5mm male jack but whn i connect it to the computer it doesn't work. according to me i think the problem is about the power but there is no way i cn connect it to a power source as there is no way. COULD YOU PLEASE HELP ME AS I NEED IT FOR MY NEW YEARS PARTY. which is tommorow. could suggest me oder ways i could connect it to my computer. the speakers are in gr8 condition. please help me!
