How do i convince my mom to buy me a cellphone?

She says I don't need one but I kinda do like when i'm hanging out with my friends and i come home late she always asks why didn't I call home and I always say how? She sometimes more than often wants me to call her at lunch (school) for some reason and I hate using the school's office phone I've been trying for like a year now and she still won't get it for me how can i convince her?
 
Tell her you need it in an emergency to call her. Tell her " what if I need to call 911 and it's life threatening" I wanted a phone so bad but the only reason my mom gave it to me is so I can contact her in an emergency or so she can know where I am at all times.
 
Put yourself in a dire situation where a cell phone would of helped :)

Or keep asking
Keep dissapearing and say "woulda called you.."

Tell her it is for emergencies and that it will be more convenient to call her using the cell phone. If you're out on the street and its dark, it would be dangerous for you to go around looking for a pay phone.
Also show her how much money it costs and how you might be able to contribute to the cost or how inexpensive it is. T-mobile has a kids talk free plan, verizon lets you call other verizon customers for free.
Also, if you convince her to get one, so you two can get them together, she might be more inclined to buy it for you.
 
Don't try to fit in. She'll probably buy you a phone for christmas
