I just want to remove it from youtube, and it says I can disable it by going somewhere but I cannot find it. I do not want to uninstall the program but instead remove it from youtube.

If you're using Google Chrome, you can uninstall the extension this way:
-Click the wrench icon on the browser toolbar.
-Click Tools.
-Select Extensions.
-Click Uninstall for the extension you'd like to completely remove.
I need to know also... It's very annoying and it freezes my laptop! I just want to know how to remove it from YouTube. P.S. I have a Mac, so I use Safari.
I was only having a problem on youtube with constantly being asked to auto-update.
In firefox I went to Tools --> Add On's --> and selecting the item named "Divx Hiq" I clicked the button "Disable"
Problem solved, and actually this solution is exactly what is described in the first response in this thread. Mine had a little more detail so I thought I'd reiterate. This problem was driving me nuts and making playlists unwatchable!
