how do you access your ipod contents with itunes version 8?

I have an ipod nano, and my brother has an ipod classic. all my songs got deleted on my ipod and itunes library because of a virus. my brother has all the songs, but I don't know how to transfer them from the ipod. Is there a program that lets you do so?
