how do you fix an itouch screen that is frozen and the touch part is not working?

i had my itouch outside and it got overheated and then froze( the screen wont doesnt feel that im touching it.) and i havent been able to unlock it because when i touch it doesnt sensse that im touching it and it wont work i dont know how to fix it. pleasee helpp.

hold down the lock botton and the front button
and it should restart the phone

Have you tried turning it off and then back on again? Try taking off the battery and then putting it back on...and when it does turn on try going to the reset button and reset everything...Just hope it works...
