celebrities? Like Peaches Geldof can get on the catwalk at 5 ft 4;
Stella McCartney seemed to be discovered for her clothing rather quickly;
Paris Hilton;
Nicole Richie;
Jamie Lynn Spears and Allie Lohan (not a children of, but siblings - same thing)...
People like these annoy me. They're famous for no apparent reason.
Does it annoy anyone else?
I do like Paris Hilton actually, she makes me laugh...but other than that, most of these people have no real purpose!

Oh yes!

But in some ways I suppose they have a harder time proving themselves.

fair enough if they work for it and disserve it but i dont like people who are famous for just leaving. i must admit im a huge fan of emma roberts. julia roberts being her aunt probly gave her a head start in the business but u know she works for it and she has a good name(at the moment ne way) unlike paris and all thoughs ones that have pointless crappy reality tv shows

It does, a bit. But I just don't tend to work myself up about it. I mean, if you think about it... If you were bob geldofs daughter and storm model management said 'we are going to put you on the catwalk' would you say... "nononono I won't do it"?

Its just the world works, not just with celebrities, with lots of things... If you know the right people etc... For instance, I work part time in Topshop, I just completed all my stuff to become a manager, then next thing you know, my bosses little cousin swoons in and becomes a manager straight after being employed - has she done any of the training? nope.

It annoys me to hell! Famous because they are related to someone who has worked hard to be famous.. It's just damn stupid! There are plenty more talented people in this world who deserve to be in the spotlight!

At least now I've found someone who agrees with me =]

Yes, in the examples you gave.

I would point out a few examples where the children have excelled in a true meritocracy, the world of sport:

Jamie Redknapp
Stuart Broad
Frank Lampard
Nigel Clough
Darren Ferguson

I know these are not true "celebrities" but...

Yes, it really does annoy me also. Though I do feel sorry for them because they were probably deprived of a normal childhood.
