How to greet a gay man at a 18th birthday?

I'm going to a 18th this Saturday and have been made aware that a gay man will be attending the party as he is the uncle of Jason who is turning 18. I have never meet a gay man before and would just like to know if I should shake his hand or give him a slight kiss on the check. I don't want to seem stand offish as I very open to one's sexual preference.
I'm only 16 and have only ever been with girls so I don't have any experience with gay men.

I didn't know gay men liked Justin Bieber, I will only be buying gift for Jason but at least I will be able to talk to the gay man about something now.

Just say hello. Most people at teenager's birthday parties don't shake hands or kiss. If HE extends his hand, then by all means, shake, but otherwise, just treat him like you would anyone else.

Honey there isn't any special way to greet a Gay man. They are just people. Everyone of them are different. My mother's Godfather is gay and he is a very strong man. And he greeted people with a hand shake. If I were you, I would just say hello and offer your hand. If he prefers another way he will most likely initiate. A firm handshake shows confidence. Remember that.

I'd bet that unless you had been told beforehand, cupcake, you'd never have known the man was gay...so treat him like any other person you meet at the party.

Just shake his hand like you would anybody else. He's a human being like you with likes and dislikes. Now you know he likes the Biebs and others like him.
