how to update nokia e66 when software is already up to date?

hi
i have an nokia e66 and i am having problems with it so i would like to reformat the device but the nokia software updater says that the software is already up to date. so is there a way i can update it or completely remove the OS and then reinstall it??

try a hard reset. Read instructions carefully

lock code is 12345 when it asks, unless u changed it.
