I want everything to work with the surround sound system .. it will all connect to a 42inch HD ready TV.

Connect HDMI from Xbox, Sky HD and Home Cinema to TV for video then optical cable or red & white cables from Xbox & Sky HD to Home Cinema for audio.

When buying cheap Home Theater in a Box systems, most people run into the problem that you are facing. There are usually no inputs other than a single audio input.

To solve this problem, the only real solution is to route all of your audio and video to your TV and then use your TV's audio output to route sound to your receiver. Hopefully your TV has an audio output. Otherwise you may be out of luck.

The number one mistake that home theater electronic consumers make is that they assume that all home theater devices are compatible. Unfortunately that's simply not the case. It is very possible that you may not be able to use this system.

I would also like to point out that even if your TV does have an audio output and you are able to connect your system, the quality will not be as good as if your audio was run directly to your audio device like a normal reciver. Once again, this is the price one has to pay for buying such a low quality system. Next time, you may want to thing about buying an actual receiver.

you can buy a digital co-axial cable which goes from sky hd to bluray
but not to sure about xbox connections
