If there was no such thing as religion the world would be A LOT more peaceful..?

i think if there was no religion there would definitely be a lot more peace in the world..people wont be persecuted because of their religion,there would be no extremists,no terrorists who believe its okay to kill for their religion,etc. Some of the things people do in the name of religion is just insane. When i watch the news and i see people who think it is okay to murder in the name of religion i am just disgusted.Im just throwing in examples.. you could still believe in god and have no religion. I believe there is a god but i don't know how much i believe in religion. This is just my opinion so no need for rude answers. What are your thoughts?
all through out history people were murdered just because of their religion.
i never said it does not include Christianity . Im talking all religion here.
There would be a lot less hatred. I am not saying everyone would love eachother and teh world would be perfect because it sure won't..but the world would have much more love in it.
 
Yes, it would. Less hatred, war, killing...

But, we have to remember that even in a Religion-free society, there would still be evil people.
 
no, i dont believe so, i sincerely believe that as long as man exist, there will always be reason for war and racism, perversion, and crime, in every aspect. If its not religion, there will always be something, and that is due to how humans think, act, behave, and exist. Unfortunately of course. I do believe that if at the beginning of time, that women were put in charge of things, rather than the male species given so much authority , that todays world would be a better place, all the way around. =) Men and their testosterone,...have and continue to screw it all up!
