I am looking for a program, preferably free, that will rip a dvd to my hard drive, I have a home movie of my wedding on dvd, I dont want to shrink it just rip it as it is onto my external hard drive so I can store it and make copies from there. as far as I can tell the dvd is less than 4gig so should fit on a regular dvd.
@ Alek-I tried that, the dvd was made from the video recorder mini tape thing (yeah Im not that technical lol). The tape was sent to a store who put it on a dvd. when I tried to copy it by copy pasting it split it into a bunch of files that dont play but come up with a prompt to download software to convert them, I did that but I cant work out how to use it. The only reason I want to do it this way is the shop charge $40 to convert it to dvd and gosh thats going to get expensive.

Try: - Ashampoo Burning Studio Free (numerous sites have the download)

Why don't you just copy the movie off the DVD to your hard drive? If it's home made it should be really easy.
