Ipod nano 4gb 3rd generation frozen! HELPPPPP!?

so i was in the car listeining to my ipod, as normal.
i tried to change the song, and then it froze!
the backlight is on and the screen is stuck on the time screen!
i have no clue what to do!
i've held down the menu and center button, i've held down the
play/pause and center button, switch the hold button on and off.
i've run out of options!

please help me out!
i don't have my dock or any kind of charger with me.

i got it christmas of 07, i think the warranty is up.
it's been frozen for about thirty minutes now.
it was charged all the way too.

How long has it been frozen? Sometimes, it helps just to put it in a docking station or plug it in and just leave it for a couple of hours, and it will recover. If that's not working, you can contact someone from Apple support. I doubt it's really gone, but if it's still under warranty (I think that's 1 year), then you can get an appointment at the Apple store and they will give you a new one since it wasn't your fault it broke. It should recover after a few hours, though.
