Is $1,795 + tax a good price for the extended maintenance package on a 2005 BMW

330ci ZHP?
Right now I have 43,000 miles and the expiration of the current factory maintenance package is in May.

From what I understand it covers the BMW inspections, oil changes, wiper blades and all brake jobs.

$1795 gives me 2 extra years up to 100K miles.

Depends on how hard you drive the car. From what you wrote, you are putting on 16,000 miles a year so after two more years you would be at 70,000 miles. How many inspections would you have after May that would be covered and what do they cost? They do not plan to lose any money on the deal so it is probably pretty close to the cost. It is to their benefit to get the money up front and hope you sell the car or forget to get it in on time for the servicing. If you put the money in the bank you might make $75 in two years but that is a stretch. If you have the cash to do it now, it may be worth the peace of mind to know it is taken care of. Personally, I don't buy many extended warranties but I did with my last car because of all the electronics under the hood.
