is a 120 hz lcd good for blue ray and a 360?

getting a lcd and an picky its going to be a 1080p around 40 46 inches but is 120hz good for gaming and blueray

120 Hz will be okay for the casual gamer. If you are an enthusiast and love LCD/LED you may want to think about the 240 Hz. However Plasma have the fastest response times and some say they are more suitable for gaming. Personally, I owned all types and I cannot tell the difference between the LED and the Plasma. The LED looked better to me actually and it was 120 Hz. I am assuming the LCD should be the same.
