My friend is considering getting his son a GLK350 SUV 4MATIC. His son got into a really good school with scholarship, so it's like a gift..His son is going to be paying $10,000 and my friend is going to pay the rest. They were wondering if it would be a good car for him. We have long 6 months winters here where it's snowing constantly so that's why he wants a SUV, so that it will be better in snow. Any thoughts? There other option is C300 4MATIC. They can't afford any other Mercedes. Personally I would go with GL350 or G55 AMG but they can't afford it.
Btw they want 2011 model.

If they can barely afford the purchase of the GLK or C300 they should probably consider something that will be less expensive to maintain. Routine service for either runs between $300 and $600 per service depending upon the service due. An AWD RAV4 or CR-V would probably be more fitting for his needs and will be considerably less costly to maintain.
