Is it a bad idea to buy a used car that is somewhat dented?

Im planning on buying a Nissan Frontier, but most are out of my budget. I found one that is slightly dented but I am able to buy it. There is a dent that goes across two doors, and the rear wheel well is also dented. Im planning on just getting it fixed when I have the money, or try to fix it myself. I am sure I will get more dents because it is my first car. What do you think?
My budget is around $6,000.
