is there any way to connect my DVD/VCR player to a VGA input computer monitor?

I have a DVD/VCR player with the regular RCA outputs and a few other more fancy ones that I cant remember right now, and I have a computer monitor with VGA input. Ive been to radioshack a few times but none of the employees can figure out how to connect the two together. anyone have any ideas/suggestions?
