Looking for good RPGs, FPSs and sandbox games for the PS2?

Hi you guys, proud retro gamer and owner of the ever trusty PS2 here. Like the question says, anybody can recommend good role-playing games and/or first person shooters? I realize those are tricky genres on the PS2, particularly FPS, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of those on the console. I've only done Darkwatch, and I've heard of Black, but other than that I'm fresh out of options. Regarding RPGs, I've done the Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Kingdom Hearts, Tales and Suikoden series, as well as Odin Sphere. Regarding sandbox-y games, I'm done with GTA and Mercs, any other good options?

I've pretty much eaten through every survival horror and action-adventure game possible, but suggestions about other genres are more than welcome (xcept sports and racing, eh).

Yes, I've religiously played the Team Ico games, both are up there in my top ten. I would ask around about similar games like those but I already know there aren't any :) By the way, just finished Okami. What fun! Is there anything like that?

I'm familiar with Godfather, Scarface and the Spidey games, it's just that I'm always a bit weary of movie cash-ins. Not to say they're bad, I think they're somewhere between decent and mediocre, but the movie angle generally gets in the way of an original gameplay experience.
 
for an rpg i would reccomend rougue galaxy. its kind of like kingdom hearts and final fantasy xii.
it sounds like youve played all of the other good rpgs, though. for a sandbox game i would reccomend bully, another great game by rockstar, the developer of gta. as far as shooters go, i cant really reccomend any on the ps2. another game i reccomend is shadow of the colossus. its one of the greatest games ive ever played. just look up shadow of the colossus boss fight 13 on youtube. its kind of sandboxy, also.
 
an EXCELLENT fps i remember from my past is star wars battlefront 2,which has solid controls,aand gameplay,that stands out even in todays standards. many of the modes you love from modern games are in here,like CTF, domination,TDM, and even a nazi zombies like mode,where you and your team, a whole team,not a small squad, must fight against hoth monsters, or you can be hoths monsters

sandbox games?

you Must have san andreas already, but have you tried spider-man 2, one of the greatest movie games of all time? or a classic like bully?

a pretty good action game i know is matrix:path of neo, which pretty much pushed the ps2 to its limits, just barely being better than the early ps3 games.
