...power with new believers.? There were about 16 gods in the world, half good, half evil. The plot involved one god getting way too much power by getting the most believers and pretty much obliterating the other gods. 2 of the weak gods were turned into a black and a white fish, and were later revived by getting believers. The hero was a desert dweller. There were also genies in the world, with the big bad god having put all his power into one large genie that was provoked into being trapped into a cave forever with another genie that was trying to impress an angel.
