...any ideas as how to fix this? I'm using windows media player, but also does the same on cyberlink. Music cds play fine on media player.
 
if u have nero installed then open its DMA manager n tick yes on ur drive n restart pc
if not done go to device manager>IDE/ATA/ATAPI controller n choose option (dma if availabe) on primary n secondry controller channel
if still not done then formatt ur pc
