My SamSung player is over two years old, has full 1080p and has played every blue ray cristal clear sens I bought it...... Until last night. I tried playing the new Star Track and Terminator movies, but to my surprise both would play previews but neither, once the disc menu, would load but instead would freeze. I would have to hit power button, wait for it to power down, then eject while it was in standby to get the disc back out. It would not respond to anything else. I even updated to latest film-ware and tried playing duplicate copies of the movies. I have only tried the two movies listed above so far; however, I believe It will be happening most or all of the time with newly released blue ray discs. It cant be my blue ray because all my older blue ray discs still play perfectly. I brought the discs that would not play to my brothers house. He just bought a new Samsung blue ray player; and the movies play fine on his without freezing or anything. Leaving me to believe it must be a compatibility issue with older players and newer movies. Has anyone heard anything on this?
From what little information I could find online I was only able gather that other people and other players are having the same problem. I don't know what to do! should I try to get it fixed, or wait for an update, or buy a new player? Because in the meantime I would like to watch the new blue rays that I have bought for the holidays! I will no doubt be getting some as presents for Christmas. If you have any information or know where to find some PLEASE post it here! Has anyone else had any experience with this matter?
