Why do some Chinese people who move to Ireland adopt Irish or English first names? It seems to be a uniquely Chinese thing. Polish, Lithuanian and Latvian people who move here don't do it. I'm just wondering if it is a cultural thing, and whether I'd be expected to adopt a Chinese first name if I moved to China.
