Simple but powerful video editing & DVD authoring software?

I'm running Windows 7, and I know quite a bit about computers, but I'm new to video editing.

I would like to be able to:
- transcode video into DVD format from many common formats (without understanding exactly what's going on?)
- perform basic video editing functions, cut & paste stuff

I NEED to be able to:
- create a DVD intro video before the main menu appears
- create completely custom menus including background video
- export to ISO or other disc image format
- edit, remove, add audio tracks independently from video tracks.
- create simple transitions

I've tried:
- Avidemux
- DVD Flick
- DVD Styler

Cost is of no concern. Thanks in advance.

Ulead is the best - if you want to do this for free you will need separate programs for editing and converting
eg.
