Software to author a DVD w/chapters from an AVI file.?

I have an old film as a AVI file that I'd like to put onto a DVD to share with some family and friends next weekend. I don't know much about authoring DVDs, how to setup chapters, etc. What I'd like is a program that just has a stock template menu (play / chapter select) So I can stick it on a DVD and just have it play in a regular player. Can anyone recommend a good program? Preferably something freeware. Thanks in advance!

DVD Flick is probably your best bet.. its free, easy to use and gets the job done just don't look to do anything to fancy but i believe you set up menus and chapters.

step by step tutorial (i doubt you'll need one) is in the program

Try SoThink Free Movie DVD Maker,
you just need to import the AVI in and it does everything for you, from converting it to DVD format, to burning into the DVD. I'm pretty sure it supports Menu chapters as well if I'm not mistaken.

I wrote a simple guide on how to use it, together with download link in my humble website:

Let me know if it works for you, cheers!
