This is the summary to my novel. Does this sound good? First chapter also included?

Chapter One
“Mother, Father!” I screamed as the temple burst into flames. Mother and Father are going to get out. They’ll be okay. I kept repeating this to reassure myself that they were okay. However now that I think about it, I might have just been trying to make an excuse to stay where I was and not get hurt myself. Who knows, if I hadn’t been such a pussy, maybe they’d be alive now.
I remember standing there on top of the hill overlooking our temple thinking they would come out any minute. What a fool I was.
I remember seeing the fire trucks and the firemen surrounding the flaming shrine. I started running towards them at full speed, but before I could reach them a hand reached out and grabbed me, forcing me to stop. I turned my head around to see my grandmother Mushawn holding me in place. I knew then as I looked at her tear filled eyes that they were gone. Her tears were like acid pouring in on my wounded heart. As I turned back to the ghastly scene two firemen were carrying out what looked like two bodies.
I can recall everything about that night. I remember how hours earlier my parents were arguing about something to do with me. At the time I figured that if maybe I left they’d stop arguing. So I took off. I didn’t go very far, just up the little hill and out of sight. I often went their when I wanted to be alone. Now I do my best to avoid it.
I was laying in the tall grass playing with a stray cat when the smell of something burning came to me. Jumping up I looked down the hill and saw the shrine engulfed in flames. Later I realized that if I hadn’t took off, then they’d never had died. When they noticed I was gone they took off together in a frenzy searching for me. They went to check the shrine for me when one of them accidently knocked over the candle sitting in the back, not noticing, they continued searching for me inside the shrine.
