...there to what to do whe? My daughter will be flying for the first time in April and she will be 8 months old. My husband and I will be taking her to Las Vegas as my husband has a convention to attend, but I was extremely hesitant to go in the first place because I'm not sure how our daughter will do on the plane and in a hotel...please help AND sorry in advance for all my questions!!!

Here are my concerns:

#1 - The flight will be approximately 7 hours, she is breastfed and does not like to sleep anywhere except her crib. Example: We take her everywhere and for some reason, she would rather be extremely overly tired and cry then fall asleep. If we go to a friends house and put her down for a nap, she'll cry for a long time before actually falling asleep or even worse...we have to leave because she won't calm down and sleep. I'm not sure what to do about this...any suggestions?

#2 - Getting from the airport to the hotel: How do I get my baby from the airport to the hotel safely? I have a Britax Marathon car seat, which is huge and does not have the quickest setup. Am I suppose to bring that with me and if so, do I have to setup the car seat in the taxi and/or hotel transport van for the short ride? Will the taxi driver or hotel transport person wait for me to install the seat? How do people do it?

#3 - I'm sure the hotel will provide a crib of some sort...Are they safe? Should I bring my own sheets and blankets for her?

#4 - What is there to do in Las Vegas with an 8 month old? We will be there for a week!

#5 - Is there something I can do to prepare her for the time change...it'll be 3 hours difference?

In the nicest way I can say it.......
LEAVE THE BABY HOME.

Las Vegas is not family oriented. They did try to make it into a family-friendly resort during the late 90's and realized it was a huge mistake. It drove away the older, more established adults who have the money to keep the economy going with gambleing and adult entertainment. I don't think you'll have a good time with an eight month old in tow.

Best wishes to you
