My wife, 10 month old girl, and I are wanting to plan a vacation south before May and are stuck. She is due in late August with our second child and we want to avoid travel during the late stages and hot months of her pregnancy.
She really has her heart set on a place at the ocean. I've been to both Myrtle Beach, SC and Destin, Florida (about 14 hours each), but they are too far for a one day drive. The one day drive is a goal of ours to avoid my daughter being in the car long hours and to save money on 2 additional hotel nights.
So, I am looking for a nice vacation spot within a days drive of Northeast Indiana, that would be infant friendly, and would possibly get us on the water.
I realize that while these months may get us cheaper rates, we also take the risk of cool and rainy weather.
My wife is deathly afraid to fly, so this is going to be a road trip for sure.
Thanks for any advice.
