What are these lines forming on my TV when I play PS3?

As of late, when I play PS3, these lines are all across my TV screen (they run at like a 45 degree angle from top right to bottom left). I tried adjusting the video jack (which is plugged into my TV) and there is no improvement.

I have A/V jacks in the back of my TV but it is a pain to get out so I don't want to test it

I have a standard Sony 36" TV. I'm using the default yellow/red/white cables that came with PS3

Is all this due to the cables or the TV slots?

If it is due to the cables, what is the best replacment for them? Obviously I can't go with an HDMI one though, but if anyone can find a good one, that would be great
 
Sounds like a ground loop problem. Buy one of the those group loop power connecter. And connect your PS3's power cable with it. I forgot the exact name for it.
