What is a good avi to 'dvd format' converter for mac that is free?

Hi guys

Im looking for a video converter that can covert from AVI format to DVD format, which i believe is MPEG-1 / MPEG -2, please correct me if i'm wrong.
I need it for a mac computer and free if possible
