what is a good deer hunting rifle for a 14 year old? 10 pts best answer.?

btw i am 5'9" and 200 lbs. so i can handle a bit of power and i already have a 12 gauge tht i use for hunting deer but i would like to try a rifle

ANY rifle of a suitable caliber/type/capacity that the person shooting it can handle.
I would suggest a bolt action, as it leads to taking more care to make a 1 shot kill.
 
Well a Savage chambered in 243 or 308 would be my choices. The 243 for the lighter kick but enough to take down deer with 100 grain Sps. The 308 has a lighter kick than a 30-06. Both are common calibers. Savage is a good accurate rifle and occupies the shooting bench next to custom rifles. The Rem 700s is the other brand that populates the shooting benches as well. So you know the action and barrel are very good.

I don't believe in giving rifles to 14-year-olds. And leave the poor deer alone. It's not like you have to eat them to survive.

It depends on his size and stature. At 14, I could shoot a 12 gauge loaded with buckshot like a BB gun. On the other hand, I had a friend who would shoot the same gun and it would put him on his ass. If he is a skinny little guy, I suggest getting something just a touch weaker, like a 22-250, or .270; these rounds also have very flat trajectories. If he's a big guy like me, go for a 30-06. It's the most powerful common hunting round, and I have seen deer shot in the legs with these things die of blood loss and trauma. Some people might say .308, but there is NOTHING a .308 can do that a 30-06 can't do 400fps better. Plus a 30-06 is also capable of bringing down moose, unlike other common cartridges. The next step up from this cartridge is the .338, and I doubt you have that kind of money. I know I don't lol.
 
Perhaps the most likely reason that I grew up to be an excellent rifle marksman is because I was required to use a single shot rifle when I was a very young boy. I only had one shot to get it done with; consequently, I learned to place a very high value on that single round.

If my own son were starting out with firearms, today, I have him using his own Thompson Center, 'Encore' rifle fitted with a 243 Winchester barrel.
