What is a good DVD movie player software for computers?

I used to have a Toshiba and I liked the option of HOTKEYS to fast-forward, reverse, skip chapters, etc. My new HP player does not have all those hotkeys. Is there a cheap (or free) video player out there that works good (Blueray not necessary) that uses hotkeys? Can Windows media player have hotkeys installed?
I mean single button hotkeys.
