When converting and burning a AVI file to DVD, which screen size is best...

...to use? Letterbox, Pan & scan or Full? These are the options I have on Xilisoft software I use, but im not to sure which one to choose.
I'm wanting to burnt to DVD to watch on the DVD player at home
