Why do people constantly compare Harry Potter with Twilight?

Come on guys! They are nothing alike in the slightest!

Harry Potter is about Witches and Wizards!

Twilight is about Vampires!

How are they even similar?

I love both i really do but i would never compare them!

Because they're both so famous, have so many fans and about fantasy. I myself prefer Harry Potter. Even though i love stuffs about vampires, but Twilight isn't that appealing to me. I'm waiting for the movie Eclipse though, because I've seen New Moon and it's better than Twilight. :) I'm talking about the movie.
 
i think its because their both amazing fantasy books aimed at teenagers. both authors have brilliant minds and imaginations to create them and i know their nothing alike but if you think about it, harry potter wasnt really famous until like the 3rd book, i'm not to sure about twilight but ill be honest i only heard about it when the movie was started 2 b advertised but im sure it wasnt a best selling novel on the first week the first book was released. i understand what u mean by why are the compared but as i said their both amazing fantasy novels for teenage readers
