Well, I hope this isn't a dumb question, nor a rant....but why is it that people who hate something( different ethictcy in people, shows, books, etc) they feel the need to discriminate/rant on negatevly about that thing. I mean, I hate things too(it's a human thing), but I don't like rant negate stuff about it, I just plain don't like it, and when I see people rant on negatevly about something, it just... makes me kinda angered at those people. I don't care about if they hate it , that's just their opinion, and that's that. So...do you know why people feel the need to discriminate or just rant things they hate?

Hate is a very powerful emotion. It builds up inside and demands to be vented. People feel better about their negativity if they can find people who agree with them. So by ranting to others about something they hate, they hope to be validated through others agreeing with them.

The other aspect playing into it is a feeling of superiority. When someone can put someone or something down, they feel superior. When I tear apart a book I don't like, I feel smarter.
