I remember on espn they were saying its not fair to compare LeBron to Kobe unless he gets to 5. Why is it that basketball players have to win a specific amount of championships? Rings are elusive, we've seen many great players who've won only 1 ring and some who've won zero championships. It should be common sense now that not every great player is going to win multiple championships, the game doesn't work that way. You're not even guaranteed one championship in the NBA. So winning one ring to me proves a lot.

Because great players like Kobe and Jordan won rings, so they want to see a great players win that many to compare them with those 2.

The main goal in basketball is to win not have great stats and no rings.

It's all about the rings - winning.

Basketball is the one sport where great players can have the most impact. So if you are great and have a solid supporting cast, you should be able to snag a ring or 2. For example, Kevin Durant is on a s tacked team. If he did not win a ring in OKC within 4 years, that would be one of the most epic fails ever. Great Players always find a way when they have the talent around them.
