Try different software first. Intel HD 3000 graphics was designed to decode High Definition video faster than old Intel graphics chipsets and processor power alone.
I once stumbled across a work around to get VLC media player to play Blu-ray discs via a downloadable plugin but can't seem to find it anymore.
Also, you could try trying various different CODEC packs which may or may not help.
