I've read all over the web that the hdmi 1.4 cable is backwards compatible for ps3, which has me wondering if firstly this is true. I have had it working twice where the ps3 has displayed on the lcd tv for 10 minutes before going back to saying 'no signal'. I have tried switching the ps3 display settings over to HDMI output but it doesn't recognize the cable and just returns to previous settings. The times i have got it to work i have had only the HDMI cable connecting the ps3 and tv and turning it on to see the ps3 asking if i want to change the display settings over. But this has only worked twice, usually when i turn the ps3 on with this situation there is no signal on the hdmi channel.
really need some help here i feel like i've tried everything..
