I have a Corsair 750W Power supply for my gaming computer.

It's only 7-8 months old and it works fine, but today it begun to make this Tiny Whining Noise when playing a game...

It's very annoying and it's scares me, considering i dont have any money to get a new one..
(and yes im a 100% it's from the powersupply)

This is only when playing games, it's quiet like a rat when just surfing the net!

Any way to fix this?

Many Thanks!

Only way to fix it is to replace the power supply. That whining noise is from a failing capacitor.

Corsair is pretty high quality, and has all the appropriate protection circuits built in.

So, when that PSU fails, it is LESS LIKELY to damage your other components than most power supplies would be.

But this is like saying that wearing a bullet-proof vest is a better safety plan than not getting into a situation where you will get shot at.

In other words, having a good quality PSU is a good plan to protect your hardware from unexpected failures. But if you know the PSU is failing, it's definitely time to replace it. It's not worth the risk.

So you don't have enough money for a new power supply? How are you going to afford a new power supply, motherboard, CPU, video card, RAM, hard drive and optical drive if that PSU fails and takes down everything with it?

It's not worth the risk, man. If you're sure the sound is coming from the PSU, the whine is a failing CAP. It can't be repaired, the PSU needs to be replace...ASAP.
