Why should I be angry about a tax hike?

I don't currently pay income taxes, as I'm a student who has never made more than $4,000 a year. But fiscal policy is a major interest of mine, and when I hear people complaining about getting their taxes raised (assuming it's going to be spent for something worthwhile), I can't imagine ever feeling the same way. Can someone give me a legitimate reason to get pissed off about higher taxes?

I expect to hear a lot of answers to the effect of "You worked hard to earn your money." Well, I also work hard when I take a dump, but I don't get possessive about THAT. If I have enough money for survival, I really don't care about everything else.

Well, here's how you'll be paying even though you don't pay income tax. Corporations base their prices on many factors one of which is taxes. As taxes go up they must raise their prices to keep up. If prices are too high people turn away and the company will start losing money and will have to lay off people to keep their business up and the others employed.

That was the consequences of high taxes and how it affects everyone.
