Will a Region A Blu Ray Player Play Region 2 DVD?

I was just wondering because we share the same blu Ray region as a lot of Region 2 Countries, but Blu-Ray regions are a lot broader (considering there are only three (correct me if I'm wrong))
Has anyone had tat experience yet?
