...same as a usb flash drive? As DVD players have a high demand for flash drive compatibly these days, I was wondering if you had a DVD player which had usb flash drive compatibly and would , it also have hard drive compatibly.

So is putting a hard drive in a DVD player the same as putting a flash drive in a DVD player?

If they aren't the same, they should be because they allow you to watch movies, but with a hard drive has a larger storage capacity.

Are they formatted differently?

hi, u mean an external hd through usb ? im not sure, i guess it needs some operating system which im not sure dvds have, interesting, let me know if u get the answer, tks
