Would you need to cover your license plate in pictures if your car is rare

or an antique? I own a 1964 Cadillac and so it appears to me that it would be really difficult for a criminal to get away with license plate fraud (why would a criminal commit a crime in a 1964 Cadillac?)

the reason most people don't show their license plates online is so thieves can't look up your address to steal your car

Think about it...your license plate is in plain view. Anybody can read it, so what are you protecting yourself from by obscuring it in a photograph? Access to vehicle registration records is protected by privacy laws. The average person or criminal can't look up your information using your license plate number.
