Can i download blue-ray rip movie file and play on my normal dvd player?

I don't have a Blue Ray DVD player. i would like to download Blue Ray DVD rip file of a movie and view the movie using USB port of my normal dvd player. I wish to do this to see the movie in HD quality on my new 46" LED TV. Is this possible? I understand these movie files (BD RIPs) are very huge compared to normal DVD Rips.
