there's a movie i want to buy online and its actually cheaper to get a blue ray version then a DVD. so was wondering if u can still watch a blue ray movie on a regular DVD player.

No! You can only watch Blu ray discs on a Blu ray player. You can watch SD DVDs on Blu ray players and recorders too.
I bought a cheap Blu ray player in January this year and I have updated a lot of my old SD DVDs movies to Blu ray discs that are worth the money.
Most of the movies I like to watch over and over have finally been remastered, remixed and enhanced on Blu ray discs.

No, you can't. You might not need a High Def Television set, but you do need a BD player to use those discs. The cheapest I've seen them is for 50.00 at blockbuster stores and 50 on black friday at walmart.

No, because BluRays are NOT DVDs. You can only play BluRays in a BluRay player. BluRay players can play DVDs though.

No you cannot blu-ray is new generation. DVD players dont have the capabilites to read a blu-ray. if you have a ps3 you can watch it on that
