Ctrl Alt Del disk error?

Help please! My computer (an HP mini) show "Disk error occurred. Please press Ctrl Alt Del to reboot". I keep doing that and it doesn't work. Does anybody have a solution? And could you explain it on the simplest or most basic terms? I didn't understand any of the solutions online because they were too complicated (for me).

This could be a disk failure.
Try booting to "Setup" or the BIOS to see if your hard drive is being detected.
