Help! First time Cruiser here. What's the good & bad about diff cruise lines?

Best Islands? Worst? Food? I am looking into going on a Caribbean cruise this March and I have no idea what to look for. This will be my first cruise ever. What are some of the prettiest Islands? Ugliest? Offshore excursions? Any & all info would be much appreciated. I would also like a ship with lots of options as far as activities go.
 
Carnival is great if you are 20-35 and looking for a good time. Food is not that great usually.
Royal Caribbean has great food but it seems that the ship was full of 45+ and everything shut down after 9pm.
