How to enable 5.1 sorround sound in my home theater if i played movies through...

...USB connected to Plasme TV.? I downloaded an .mp4 file and it says that it has a 5.1 sorround sound. I played it via USB and i connected it to my TV. I connected the audio out to my home theater with a cable ( i dont know what it is called but its like a RCA cable with yellow and white ) but it only produce stereo sound only the left and right are working. No sounds on center and rear speakers. Sorry for my bad english. Any help will be appreciated. TIA.

You cannot connect a USB cable to a plasma TV for sound input. I install home theater systems for a living and never saw that type of hook up.
Where is the sound coming from? If from a computer, use a Minitel to RCA cable and connect it to an used audio input on your Home Theater Receiver. Select that input on the receiver and if its 5.1 Dolby, it should decode all 5 channels.
