how to hook up blue ray dvd player to surround sound dvd player?

i have a magnavox blue ray dvd player and i want to hook it up to my samsung dvd player surround sound for audio and i need to know what kind of cable i need to hook it up

To get surround sound you'll need to use an optical cable from the blu ray to the receiver of your sound system, then choose the optical input's name when you want the sound for the blu ray.

Keep the HDMI into the tv for the pic. Turn off the tv's sound.
