I just purchased a new blue ray player and can not get it to play sound.?

We have watched a couple movies on our new blue ray with no problems, but the last one we rented would not play the sound through our stero, it played the sound for the previews but when the movie came on there was nothing. I called blockbuster and was told that I needed to download updates. Does anyone know what he's talking about?
 
Make sure you specify the audio output to be 2-ch PCM and not HD DTS or other multi-channel audio.

Blockbuster probably referred to a possible need to do a firmware upgrade on your player. Go to the web site of the manufacturer and check if there is one available for your model.
